FOIA Request Tips

This portal is for public records requests for the Village of Roselle, Illinois.

In order to obtain a copy of a Crash Report, please use one of these methods, either by purchasing online at: https://buycrash.com/ or by sending a Check/Money Order, in the statutory amount of $5.00 for each report requested, to the Roselle Police Department,103 S. Prospect Street Roselle, Illinois 60172 and we will return a copy by U.S. Mail, or by appearing in person at the Roselle Police Department with $5.00 exact cash. Please include the Crash Report number in your request to assure you receive the appropriate report(s).

Record requests on this portal may be made public, therefore, we suggest that you do not include social security numbers, birth dates, or other confidential information.

Once you submit your request, you will receive email notifications regarding the status of your request. If you are not receiving the email notifications, check your spam/junk folder.

For best results:

• Be as specific as possible with the types of records that you are requesting.
• Provide a date range for the records you are seeking. For example, from Jan. 1, 2020 to the date of the request.

In accordance with State Law, requests and the records provided in response in NextRequest, are deleted from the portal after two years from the date of closure.

Anonymous Requests: If you submit a request without contact information, the portal will not allow you to receive updates for your request and you will not be able to log in to access documents. It will be your responsibility to check the public portal.
